Porsche Reveals 918 RSR

Porsche captured the attention of everybody at Detroit motor show 2011 by revealing 918 RSR. This model combines the features of 911 GT3 R hybrid and 918 Spyder road car.

It has a closed cockpit which gives it a more purposeful and shorter look. It has got orange stripes that provide it style. There is a fan placed on the top of engine like 917′s flat-12.

This model makes use of V8 engine. The front wheels require two electric motors that are powered independently. The maximum power this car can produce is 767bhp. The V8 engine here makes use of paddleshift six-speed transmission.

The RSR utilizes the flywheel because transfer of energy from in and out of flywheel could be much faster as compared to batteries. Due to it, electric kick through the corner could be bigger. Besides this, flywheel is much lighter if you compare them with batteries.

918 RSR is at present not eligible for any racing category. But, Porsche is having talks with the authorities in regard to making rules for fitting the car.
