Washington : It is a matter of great distress that leadership of Pakistan was caught unaware by presence of slain al Qaida chief  in the abbotabad. This was told by a senior official of the white house.

As per john brennen, assistant to president of US on homeland security, the leadership of pakistan which includes political, intelligence and military was caught unaware of the truth that Laden was found in the compound in Abbotabad. This was located near to capital of nation and near to the military academy.

They want to see the fact why he was there for a period of six years. One cannot say whether there was some knowledge about it among elements in Pak board establishment and they provided help or assistance.

In response to a question, he said, “But you know, looking at that situation, bin Laden and the people at that compound practiced absolutely phenomenal OPSEC (operations security).”

He further said, “He (bin Laden) was there for six years. To our knowledge, he never left that compound once he got there. The people that were out of the compounds were, most of them never left either. You have a couple of folks who basically served as his interlocutors with the outside world and provided the type of support that he needed.”
