The three times Grammy Winner and the queen of Blues, Etta James passed away on Friday after suffering much from leukemia. She was 73 and will never be 74 as her friend and manager Lupe De Leon said, confirming one of the bitterest news of the decade.
Her performance in “At Last” and “Good Rockin’ Daddy” will be remembered forever and she will remain a legendary singer for her fellow singers and many generations of music lovers to come.
As this grave news broke out from the hospital where she was admitted, artists, music composers and even the President of the Academy of Recording Neil Portnow express their tribute personally and even through Twitter.
“Mystery Lady: The Song of Billie Holiday” brought her the first Grammy 1995 and the second came for paying homage to her lifetime achievements in 2003. The third one came just after ten years of the first Grammy.
James died, leaving a great legacy to her country and the World. She had diabetes and kidney problems but ultimately in December last year she was admitted to hospital. After undergoing a diagnosis for last 2years with leukemia complications, she succumbed to death just the day before.
Her husband, two sons Donoto a Sametto, used to play in her band, were near to her at very last moment of life of this great singer-cum performer. Holding her nine songs in the top 40 pop songs bears her versatility and popularity among her fan following and music lovers.
Seeing much ups and downs in life, this veteran singer make her entry to Rock n Roll world of Fame at a very young age flaunting her talent to the world.
In the World of entertainment, Etta James will be like a Pole star forever. Her eventful life will inspire many of singers and die hard music lovers. May her soul rest in peace in the heave!
