Want To Reduce Weight: Remove Milk From Your Tea Cup

For most of the people, reading newspaper while sipping fresh tea is sufficient to make their morning good. What if I say you that tea can also help in combating fat? It is true but here is a catch also – you have to forgo the milk you add to tea.
A new research study conducted in this regard stated that tea contains some compounds that have the capability to reduce fat and cholesterol levels.
Theraflavins and theraubigins, the compounds of tea, when given to rats, showed good results in preventing obesity level in them.
However, this advantage of tea gets neutralized if milk is added to it. The reason is some complexes which are formed when milk proteins interact with these compounds.
Milk proteins make these compounds to precipitate and lower their advantage. Much to surprise, skimmed milk, which is usually considered as better choice, is the nastiest wrongdoer, according to the journal Nutrition Research report.
“Therefore, it is always advised to take tea without milk”, said Devajit Borthakur, a scientist at Tea Research Association.
This research study may not be good news for many of the people, especially Britons. Their tea contains 98% milk approximately.
So, next time when you prepare your cup, think for the amount of milk first!
