The Federal Commission is alerted all high-tech companies to assemble data ahead of a probe of the dominance of Google Inc in the internet search industry.

According to Bloomberg report, citing three people familiar with the matter said that the Federal Commission told companies it plans to issue civil investigative demands. All are similar to subpoenas for the information.

The agency has been considering a wide-ranging investigation into Google.
