Roger Federer Beats Youzhny To Enter The Quarter Finals

Six-time winner Roger Federer came back strongly after losing first set to beat Mikhail Youzhny of Russia 6-7 (5/7), 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 on Monday. With this victory he moves into the quarterfinals of Wimbledon.
The 29 years old player lost opening set in the tie-break. He did not seem concerned by that and quickly recovered to get the control of match. He next faces Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France in the last eight.
Federer last won the Wimbledon title in 2009. He now has reached 29 quarter-finals of Grand Slam consecutively. He would surely be eyeing Pete Sampras’s feat of seven men’s singles Wimbledon titles.
Federer, remarked, “It was a tough first set to lose in the end because I was playing well.”
He added, “To lose the first set in a Slam is tricky mentally. You think ‘Is he going to get a boost and play even better’. It can be quite dangerous so I was pleased to win the second set with two breaks.”
He also said, “It’s always somewhat tricky to play on Court One because I’m not so used to the surroundings, but I was happy with the way I played and I’m looking forward to a tough battle with Tsonga.”
You should note that Youzhny was defeated in all 10 meetings against Federer. He did not won even a set during last six clashes between them. This miserable record suggested that he had little hope against the Swiss player.
