SAG Awards: A New Feather In The Crown Of “The Help”

Along with the US, the World of film lovers is suffering from fever of Oscars. The most prestigious award ceremony will be held on 26th February 2012 in the traditional Kodak Theater in Los Angeles.

Before the gigantic ceremony takes place, one of the champion films at the Golden Globe, “The Help” added another feather to its crown. This film in a succession of surprise picked up three awards- the top ensemble cast of 2011 along with the best actress and the best supporting actress.

Another silent movie romance “The Artist: took away one singular award for the French actor Jean Dujardin for his outstanding performance as a fading actor at the last quarter of the end of talkies.

This French actor ruminate that as a child he always used to dream and this is why his teacher called him “Jean of the moon”.

The Help Cast
Viola Davis was named the best actress for her outstanding performance in the civil rights-era drama “The Help”. She too sang in the same tune of Jean Dujardin of dreaming. While thanking the eminent crowd she said to audience to dream big and dream fierce.

Another actor Christopher Plummer, 82 received the first film honor for his role as a homosexual and revealing it his chagrin family. Octavia Spencer won her SAG for her performance as a poor maid in “The Help”.

It award was expected for the Berenice Bejo the actor in the silent romance of “The Artist”. But, when it went for the Help, it surprised the audience.

SAG is watched very closely as it has a good deal of influence on the Academy Awards juries.  But, unlike Academy, Sag honors TV stars too.

This year “Broadway Empire” took away the prize for the best series drama on Television and “Modern Family” won the best comedy on the small screen. For Oscars, it’s now a crossed finger situation.
