Sergio Batista, Coach of Argentina, feels Lionel Messi is on track to become the best footballer ever.

Messi scored two fabulous goals in the Barcelona’s 2-0 win against Real Madrid in first-leg semi-final match of the Champions League on Wednesday at Santiago Bernabeu. The second goal he scored was superb in the Clasicos history.

Batista was present at the match and was delighted with the performance of Messi. He remarked, “We saw the Messi we all know and love. He’s on his way to becoming the best player in history.”

He added, “I left the stadium telling myself, ‘Thank God players like Xavi and Messi exist’. They give you goose bumps, they thrill anyone.”

It is interesting to note that Messi has 52 goals to his name from all competitions in this season for Barcelona. He has 11 of them in Champions League.
