Sergio Batista Struggles To Reduce The Team To Eleven Players
Sergio Batista, coach of Argentina, is facing selection headache as he is struggling to reduce the team to eleven players. This is because he has got several talented players and does not want to leave any one from them. He wishes to play with 18 players in a match.
Batista when questioned about the scheme he liked to play said, “A 4-3-3, with a classic number 8 and number 10 and a number 5 in the middle of the field.”
The 1986 World Cup winning player spoke about the talent that Argentina has got. He said, “Argentina have the players to play with 17 or 18 men.”
Batista believes that youngster Javier Pastore is suited for particular situations in a match. He feels that Pastore has a role to come in second half of game and finish it.
The coach feels that Juan Sebastian Veron has a special role to play and will contribute to the team through his experience.
