New Skype App For Free Two-Way Video Chat On Iphone
Everyone was waiting long for free two-way mobile video chat feature. Skype has just launched the latest version of its iPhone app with free two-way video chat feature on both 3G and Wi-Fi. The new app is compatible with Apple devices running iOS 4.0 or later including iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, and iPod Touch 4. Whereas, the users can only receive the incoming video calling on iPad, iPod Touch 3G from their contacts.
This app provide free two-way video calling feature even on the devices that could not run Apple FaceTime. Skype app is one of the top 5 free phone applications in 2010. The VoIP company still believes to gain more popularity with new video calling feature. Neil Stevens, General Manager (Skype), says, “With video calling representing approximately 40 percent of all Skype-to-Skype minutes for the first six months of 2010, our users have been eager to get Skype video calling on their mobile phones”
The video calling to Skype app can be made from Skype on Windows, Skype on Mac, Skype on Linux, and ASUS Videophone. The desktop Skype users can share the screen with the Skype app users as well. The new app can work in both landscape and portrait modes. In addition, it allows to mute a call, swap between the front-facing and rear-facing camera on supported devices, and make or answer a call with only audio or with both audio and video.
The latest version of Skype app continues to have traditional features as well like status messages update, instant messenger, and SMS to chat with friends before, during, or after the call. It also has a history tab to access recent communications list.
