The South Africa National Cricket Team “Proteas” is keen to appoint their former star batsman Gary Kristen as national team’s coach next year.

Rapport, the Afrikaans weekly, reported that the decision is taken after seeing the India’s victory against Australia earlier this month in Test series. The weekly said, the reason to appoint Kristen as a national team coach of Africa may be his popularity as one of the best coaches of India.

After Corrie van Zyl announcement to  retire  as South African coach after the World Cup in March next year, Kirsten is one of those being eyed for the position by Cricket South Africa (CSA).

But the Afrikaans weekly reported that whether Kristen will be available when his contract with India ends, will depend upon the performance of Indian cricket team in the World Cup.

The news is also coming from Rapport, the senior members of the Indian cricket team such as Sachin and Dhoni are quite impressed with Kristen coach and they might put pressure on the Board of Control for Cricket in India to offer him a new contract as a coach of Indian Cricket team.

Well, the decision will be taken further.
