Stem Cells Can Be Much Helpful In Treatment Of Damaged Hearts
There is a good news for medicine world. Research says that stem cells can be of great help in treating damaged hearts. These cells were injected in human beings who were suffering from serious damage. Significant improvement was reported in their condition later.
As the speciality of stem cells goes, these had developed to replace affected tissues. Stem cells are much helpful in replacing damages cells and tissues that can’t be replaced otherwise. Same technique can be used to replace damaged spinal cord, liver, cartilage, and some other tissues.
This study has been promulgated in the Lancet. Bolli and team performed the research by gathering tissues from patients’ heart and derived stem cells from those tissues. If the cells from patients’ own body are used, there are very less chances of rejection.
Though this study can revolutionize, few patients have been treated so far by this. Further research is required to test the effectiveness and practicability of the treatment.
In U.S., heart diseases are one of the major problems. If the treatment works out properly, it will be a good hope for heart patients around the globe.
