Talks On Pay-As-You-Go Film Service

Google and YouTubeToday the Financial Times reported that Google’s YouTube video sharing website is in discussion with Hollywood movie studios on a worldwide pay as you go video service that could be introduced by this year end.

First the service is likely to introduce in the United States pursued by other countries over the time, the news paper said, the citing people with information of the circumstances.

According to the News paper, “Google and YouTube talked about how many people they could steer to this. It’s a huge number,” as said by an executive with knowledge of the plans.

The FT article said that “Viewers would stream films on the site and pay about $5 for newer titles.”

It added that the movies become accessible simultaneously as their release on DVD and on Amazon.com and Apple’s iTunes store.

Consultations have been continuing for months but have taken a new importance in current weeks as Apple is projected this week to launch developments to its TV service, according to news paper.
