For The First Time Tablets Get Ahead Of The Netbooks
According to ABI research for the first time the shipment of tablets has crossed that of the Netbooks. The research says around 3.6 million tablets were shipped this quarter compared to just 7.3 million Netbooks. Out of these tablets 68 percent is said to be Apple’s share.

It is to be noted here that the Netbooks were way ahead in the race in the first quarter with 8.4 million shipments compared to just 6.4 million shipments for the tablets.
Jeff Orr, director of ABI research group said that they believe that the trend is here to stay. He also cited various reasons that are hooking the customers to the tablets.
He added that since the tablets are easy to use so people are finding them lucrative for internet access. Even the people who were earlier not comfortable with using the Netbooks or the PC’s are pretty comfortable in using these tablets. In fact its user friendly interface has a large role in making it popular among the audiences.
Though the only factor which is not in the favor of a tablet is its cost, which is almost double that of a Netbook. But still people are opting for it in a huge way owing to its great features and ease of use.
ABI has estimated that about 60 million tablets will be shipped this year as compared to only 32 million Netbooks. It is said that the consumers of these tablets will be mainly in the countries like US, Japan, Western Europe and South Korea.
It is believed that the Netbook is still not dead as it holds great importance in places where PC’s and broadband connections are still not available on a large scale. Overall it would be a great.
