[private]On Thursday YouTube announced to increase length of video upload, now the maximum length of video on YouTube will be 10 to 15 minute for all users. Now any user who wants to upload 15 minutes video can upload it easily.

In a blog post, Joshua Siegel, product manager for upload and video management at YouTube, wrote that, “The ability to upload longer videos has been “without question, the number one requested feature” from users. Recent improvements to the site’s Content ID system has allowed for the upload limit increase, Siegel wrote.

He said that, “Now, all of the major U.S. movie studios, music labels and over 1,000 other global partners use Content ID to manage their content on YouTube. Because of the success of these ongoing technological efforts, we are able to increase the upload limit today.”

Siegel asked that “Imagine that this video is all the world will ever know about you: what would you want to communicate? What will be the enduring stamp you’ve left on us all?”

4th August is deadline to upload 15 minutes videos, Tag it “yt15minutes” and at some point in the future winner will have their videos featured on the YouTube home page.

Siegel also pointed about long videos which had rejected because of length and being too long first go to “My Videos” and first delete the old one then try to upload it again.[/private]
