Xavi Is Optimistic To Overcome The Leg Injury

Barcelona player Xavi played down about the seriousness of the leg injury he has after reports suggested that he might get forced to stay on sidelines for some extended time period.

XaviThe 32 years old midfielder got the knock during the latter part of goalless drawn game against Villarreal held on 28 January. He has just featured in one of the Barcelona’s five earlier matches. This suggested the possible reason for concern.

But, Xavi choose to clarify about his present fitness problems on Thursday. He is very positive to get back as soon as possible. He claimed to be “very optimistic” towards overcoming the injury, and then branded this knock as “no big deal”.

The midfielder did admit the swelling made him get some discomfort during the last few weeks. However, he did not ruled out the possibility of appearing in the Sunday’s crucial clash against Valencia for the La Liga.

Emili Ricart, the physio of Barca, would continue helping Xavi from overcoming the injured soleus for the meantime. He is mixing up the specific workouts and integrates with the remaining team-mates for training.

The fans are hoping that the talented player gets a speedy recovery and is able to play to his best potential.
