New York Stuck Due To Snow Storm
New Yorkers woke up with an unexpected snow storm on Wednesday morning that is predicted to continue till Thursday. This has been the snowiest winter in recent years.
Central park has already witnessed 37-inches of snow since the commencement of winters. This fell down during the 26-month period from November 2006 till the end of December 2008.
It is expected that snow will taper up to 12 inches before the storm ceases. This was originally projected to bring a mixture of snow and precipitation. But the conditions changed on Wednesday morning.
The city has seen unusual political meaning because of its sluggish response to the day after Christmas blizzard. This has also affected many businesses especially restaurants.
Every year there is sizeable snow fall in New York but this time snow storm compelled people to run to supermarkets to stock up food than heading towards restaurants. Even things have been tough for transport operators. According to the officials in Metropolitan Transportation Authority, they have already lost $16 million in revenue during the December storm.
